Course Description

Weekend Screen Acting Course this weekend course is specially designed for anyone who wants to try a career in acting for Cinema and Television and to those who want to sharpen their skill in acting:

  • In this 15-Week Acting Course, you will find a progression of tools and techniques necessary for an actor-from foundational work on the body and voice to more advanced work on the mind using techniques like Meisner and Chekhov. Whether you are a beginner or an experienced actor, you can enhance your craft using the different, effective approaches.
  • You will receive individual guidance from FTII alumni, who themselves have undergone rigorous training and hence know how to not just help you understand these skills but also apply them to improve your performance.

  1. Trinity of Acting: Practical exercises to explore the three tools of an actor-the mind, the body and the voice
  2. Voice and Speech: Exercises to find your true voice as well as a character’s voice
  3. Movement: Exploration through music, different gaits and opening up the body
  4. Imagination: Activating sensory and imaginative awareness as an actor
  5. Method Acting: An introduction to finding the truth in a performance
  6. The Art of Being in the Moment: Exploring theatre games and the Improvisation technique
  7. Meisner Technique: Finding natural and honest expression through exercises like Repetition
  8. Chekhov Technique: A psycho-physical approach to finding a character
  9. Text Work: How to analyse a text to prepare a monologue and a scene.
  10. Characterisation: How to create different characters
  11. Performance Analysis: Watching, analysing and discussing what works in performances that have made a mark
  12. Dubbing: How to find consistency in a performance long after it has been recorded
  13. Audition Techniques and Casting Inputs: Discussion with a casting director to know the practical requirements of the industry

Mansi M Puggal

Mansi M Puggal is an alumnus of FTII, Pune and the Drama School of Mumbai. She essayed the titular role of Lailaa in Lailaa Manju, and has worked in numerous ads and short films. With over 8 years of screen and theatre acting experience, she has also worked proactively as an acting facilitator in educational and corporate circuits. She swears by psychophysical acting techniques like the Chekhov Technique.

Anup Gowda

Anup Gowda is a post-graduate in acting from FTII, Pune. He started his journey in the Bangalore theatre circuit and then began doing screen work. With films like ‘Sapta Sagaradaache Ello’ and Cannes-winning ‘Sunflowers were the first ones to know’ to his credit, he has been actively working in Kannada films, serials and advertisements for 10 years now. He credits the naturality in his acting to the Meisner Technique.

Aniruddh Roy

Aniruddh Roy is a casting director, actor and a talent agent. Along with acting in films like 777 Charlie, he has founded and manages GreenNote Films Community which is a budding space bringing casting directors and actors together.
