Course Description

Unlock your filmmaking potential with our 15-weekend Short-Term Direction Course at L V Prasad College of Media Studies. This course is designed for aspiring filmmakers and storytellers who want hands-on experience in producing short films for cinema and television while balancing weekday commitments. Led by senior faculty and practicing filmmakers, the program blends theory with practical training to provide real-world skills in film direction.

Course Highlights

Weeks 1–5: Film Theory & Aesthetics

  • Intensive sessions on the craft, language, and aesthetics of cinema
  • Screenings of curated short films and clips from national and international cinema

Weeks 6–10: Practical Filmmaking Training

  • Hands-on workshops on scriptwriting, DSLR camera handling, production management
  • Post-production techniques including editing and sound design

Weeks 11–15: Short Film Production

  • Each participant will direct and produce their own short film in teams
  • Guided mentoring from senior faculty throughout the production
