Course Description

This 15 weekend course will give a comprehensive training in producing short films for cinema and television by senior and experienced faculty and practicing filmmakers.

This course will have following three components

  • First five weeks will have intensive classes on theoretical aspects of filmmaking focusing on craft, aesthetics and language of cinema with screenings of pertinent short films and movie clips from National and International movies
  • Second Five weeks will have hands on training on all aspects of filmmaking – writing script, handling DSLR cameras, production management and handling post production (Edit and sound)
  • Third Five weeks will have actual production of short films by every participant with the mentoring of senior faculty.

At the end of the course each participant will carry a short film directed by them (as a team) and basic knowledge of filmmaking that will fire them further into filmmaking.
