Course Description

Master the art of Film Editing and Colour Grading with our Short-Term Weekend Course designed for aspiring editors, filmmakers, and media professionals. Gain hands-on experience in AVID Media Composer and DaVinci Resolve under the guidance of senior and experienced faculty, and learn to edit dialogue-driven scenes, short films, and music videos with precision and creativity.

Course Highlights

Film Editing Essentials

  • Principles of editing, scene construction, rhythm, pace, and pauses

Film Workflow & Terminology

  • Comprehensive understanding of the filmmaking process from raw footage to final cut

Digital Imaging & Colour Grading

  • Learn exposure, colour space, colour theory, LOG-LINEAR & RAW formats, and depth in colour and exposure

Practical Tools Training

  • Hands-on sessions in AVID Media Composer for editing
  • Training in DaVinci Resolve for basic colour grading

Applied Projects

  • Work on dialogue scenes, short films, and music videos to build real-world editing experience

Outcome

By the end of the course, students will confidently edit and colour grade projects, understand industry-standard workflows, and be prepared to contribute creatively to film and video productions.
