This intensive workshop is designed to provide participants with a comprehensive understanding of ARRI Alexa cinema cameras and the core principles of cinematography. Through a combination of theoretical sessions and hands-on practice, students will gain the skills and confidence to handle professional film equipment and implement cinematic techniques effectively.

PRESENTER
MR. R Narayan Kumar
Senior Faculty specializing in Cinematography and Filmmaking
Mr. Narayan Kumar has always been driven by a desire to give back to the younger generation—sharing lessons earned through decades of dedication and experience in the film industry.
For the past 20 years, he has passionately focused on academics, shaping aspiring filmmakers and cinematographers. He has served as Head of the Department of Cinematography at prestigious institutions, including the Satyajit Ray Film & TV Institute, Kolkata, and L V Prasad College of Media Studies, Chennai. He has also led Digital Video Production at the Asian College of Journalism, Chennai, training students in photojournalism, news and documentary camera work, and television studio production.
Under his mentorship, numerous graduation films have earned national and international recognition. His industry experience includes collaborating with eminent cinematographer P.C. Sreeram on R. Balki’s Shamitabh, Mani Ratnam’s OK Kanmani, and Shankar’s I.
