Sumana Barman
Assistant Professor
Sumana Barman is a graduate in Direction and Screenplay Writing from Satyajit Ray Film and Television Institute (SRFTI). A filmmaker and academic with a decade of experience in advertising and short fiction, she specialises in film direction, screenwriting, and visual storytelling. She has previously taught at AAFT University, Raipur, and Mindscreen Film Institute, Chennai.
Her research explores the evolving role of screens in society, with two published chapters in Multidisciplinary Aspects of Media and Arts and Value Integration of Media and Arts.
Currently an Assistant Professor in Direction and Script Writing at L V Prasad College of Media Studies, she continues to mentor young filmmakers with her passion for storytelling and cinema’s cultural impact.
