The LV Prasad College of Media Studies is proud to express our deepest gratitude to Kaarthikeyan Kirubhakaran — an accomplished filmmaker, cinematographer par excellence and visionary — for his generous and thoughtful donation of professional filmmaking equipment to our institution.
An alumnus of FTII, Pune and La Fémis, Paris, Kaarthikeyan’s cinematic journey spans continents and cultures. As a Co-Producer and Executive Producer, he has worked with renowned studios such as Gaumont, Boréales, and SFP Productions, bringing to life stories that resonate across borders. His directorial debut, His Father’s Voice, stands as a lyrical and visually rich contribution to Indian independent cinema.
His donation to our college includes a remarkable collection of production gear — from a Sony A7S camera body, GoPro Hero camera setup, Jimmy Jib, and professional lenses, to monitors, chargers, and support accessories. These tools will now find new life in the hands of aspiring filmmakers at our institution — enabling them to learn, experiment, and create with the very equipment used in professional cinema.
This is more than a donation. It is a gift of opportunity, a legacy of learning, and a lasting act of belief in the power of cinema education.
Thank you, Kaarthikeyan Kirubhakaran, for empowering futures and inspiring dreams.
